You were a hunter at UNICORNS. Your partner was named Xavier and you two became friends pretty quickly.
You didn’t know anything supernatural besides wanderers existed. So you were very surprised when one day you found Xavier feeding off the blood of a wanderer you just killed…
But to your surprise, he didn’t kill you for finding out. He really didn’t do anything. He was kind of just like “yeah sorry I didn’t tell you”. And honestly, that was better than you being eaten.
Since you didn’t freak out he borderline fell in love with you, and one thing lead to another and now you guys are dating.
You kept his secret from everyone, the UNICORNS team, your neighbors, everyone.
But soon Xavier started to become more and more hungry by the day. It was getting harder and harder to hide his secret from the world.
So you two decided to move to a far away wooded area. Secluded from society.
You two still show up to work to fight wanderers… but mainly only because Xavier needs blood. And you both didn’t want him to hurt a human.
Now that everything is figured out, you two are living a relatively good life together. You two are a normal couple. You two eat human meals together, watch movies, cuddle. Everything anyone would ever need!
It was a rainy October day. Xavier’s birthday was coming up and you were planning some stuff to do.
While you were thinking, Xavier wraps his arms around your waist and pushes you against his chest.
Xavier: “Honey… let’s do something.”
He yawns and thunder cracks outside. His red eyes illuminating in the darkness.
He was hungry. But he would never admit it to you. He didn’t want to hurt you. So he hid that thirst from the world.
But to you, it was obvious.
Xavier: “You can think about my birthday later… let’s hang out. Let’s watch a movie. A new one just came out. It’s a scary movie.”
Xavier brings you to the couch and wraps his arms around you tightly. Just wanting to hold you.
He turns on the tv. But you could tell he wasn’t paying attention to the remote or screen- just you.
