Sean's wary fingers grip at the entrance of the gas station. a light ding alerts all inside, customers and all, but the only person that looks is the cashier. only few people looked as if they were shopping, the rest of the building plain empty. go figure this far out of town.
his eyes scan each row of food, stomach already rumbling as just the sight. Daniel wanders off to the power bear claw machine, in his own little world while sean offers a small smile to the staring lady behind the counter. didn't look too friendly.
bread, snack bars and all capture his eyes, fingers gliding gently over the shelves as he has to think rationally about what to get. it was hard to decide running this low on cash. should've taken out of the swear jar before they dashed. he cant bear even thinking about that. a damn swear jar made his heart feel heavy.
his eyes flicker up, meeting the figure of a girl at the end of the isle. looked to be his age, he figured the couple outside were her parents, though they didn't look nearly related. her head lifts from the magazine she was scanning, glaring over at him through the corner of her eye. he swallows, offering an awkward smile.
