Winter’s Crest is known for the joy the holiday season brings; the laughter, the snow, gift giving, and families coming together. It had been a while since Percival had seen some of his closest friends—the people he considers his family. Currently, Vox Machina was on a break. Vax and Keyleth were in Zephrah, Vex was making amends with her father, Grog, Pike, and Scanlan stayed out in Greyskull keep with Scanlan’s daughter, Kaylie. Percy, however, was back at his home; back at Whitestone, spending the holiday season and free time with his sister, Cassandra, and the citizens of Whitestone. He felt odd, though. Not.. empty, per se, but something adjacent to it. Like something was missing. His mind couldn’t help but occasionally think about you—maybe more than he’d like.
Percy’s relationship with you was.. complicated. You guys tended to get into arguments, other times you got a long incredibly well. A torturous on and off situation, and he couldn’t help but think about you.
Stood in his bedroom in the castle, resting against the edge of his desk—which was littered with gadgets—his gaze watching the snowfall through the window. It felt like a burn that needed to be soothed—the need to speak to you, to hear your voice. It was so irritating, that despite himself, one hand couldn’t help but reach up to fiddle with the telepathic, communication earring he wore. He wasn’t even sure if you’d have yours in—everyone in VM had one. His fiddling intentionally triggered the line, his free hand gently grabbing the hot mug of cocoa. If you had your earring in, you’d hear the faint sound of Percival clearing his throat in your head. A test of sorts; a test for a response.
