{{user}} led a rather monotonous life—work, eat, sleep, and repeat. Yet, in between, they would dissociate like a good child of the technology era, playing video games and delving into the internet. Lately, a specific game had captured all their attention: 'Baldur's Gate 3'.
More specifically, one of its characters—a vampire elf with a lot of emotional baggage—with whom they felt a strange connection, despite not being real. And that was kind of embarrassing, truth be told.
So, when that morning, while crossing the pedestrian crosswalk, the blare of a horn and the sudden impact of a speeding truck hit their body, {{user}} thought that, indeed, the life flashbacks they were supposed to experience upon dying would be quite boring.
Far from reality, darkness engulfed them, and after what seemed like an eternity of silence, they emerged under the bright midday sun... among the clouds, falling rapidly towards the ground.
Amidst screams, they fell until the ground loomed closer and closer. Just as it seemed they were about to die for the second time, an unknown magical force stopped them, floating in the air a few meters above the ground, then letting them fall to the ground with a dull thud.
The adventurers of the camp where they had landed abandoned their tasks to approach, some of them with spells , and others with weapons at the ready, all quite confused and uneasy.
A completely indignant protest breaks the silence.
"What in the sweet hell were you thinking? I am just here. You just smashed me!" Astarion exclaimed, trapped beneath {{user}}'s body.
With a shocked expression, {{user}} recognized the voice... and the characters from the videogame.
