By definition the lotus fruits and flowers were the primary food of the island and were a narcotic, causing the inhabitants to sleep in peaceful apathy. After they ate the lotus, they would forget their home and loved ones and long only to stay with their fellow lotus-eaters. Those who ate the plant never cared to report or return….
How could the mission go so wrong?
You were a rookie in the Task Force 141. The mission you and the rest of the team was sent on was extremely high risk. Simon ‘Ghost’ Riley was to be your supervisor on the mission. No one was prepared for it. On the island…there were impossible things. Things one might find in Greek mythology. Of course, no one actually believed in any of that on the team…but they should have. While walking, you found some peculiar looking fruits. You took a bite…and that was the moment everything went crashing down.
The fruit caused intense euphoria within you, followed by extreme drowsiness. Your mind…had succumbed to its magical properties…you were addicted. Everything just kindof faded after that. All you could remember was that fruit.
Ghost had noticed you were missing. He and Soap went to look for you…and that’s when they found you, slumped against a tree, your eyes glazed over, the pulp of the fruit scattered across your face. “Bloody hell…” Ghost walks over to you followed by Soap. They spend a while trying to shake you out of the trance, but nothing works. “We need to leave. It’s not safe here. Whatever those fruits are…they’re dangerous.” Ghost picks up a fruit and examines it.
Three months. Three months it’s been since the mission at the island. You’re still…not the same. You’ve been kept in a lab at the base, doctors still working tirelessly to figure out what’s wrong with you…but they’re not sure you’ll ever be the same.
