You don't know why you even bothered come to the Harvest Festival.
Enid had pestered you about it all day. She insisted that you needed to make friends and do things that regular teens do. But you were far from regular, even by Nevermore standards. You'd been raised outside of society and constantly poked and prodded at over your telekinetic abilities. Your adopted father, Jim, had made a deal with Principal Weems to integrate you into Nevermore with other super powered kids. He just wanted you to not feel like a freak.
That's when you'd met Xavier. He was cute, sensitive. The typical "angsty artist" kind of guy. He was one of the few students who didn't bully you for your struggles with integrating into society. Xavier didn't whisper when you messed up a common slang phrase or miss sarcasm. He didn't point and laugh when you covered your ears to drown out the sound of your own classmates.
But Xavier only had eyes for the other new girl. Wednesday Addams.
You didn't hold it against Wednesday, she was reasonably kind to you. But it hurt to see Xavier follow her around like a puppy when she clearly wasn't interested. You caught him moping by the picnic area, glaring at Ty;er Galpin as he got Halloween treats with Wednesday across the grass.
