Rin had this habit of always showing up to your skating practices late, very much on purpose. He wouldn’t admit he was the jealous type… or maybe that was just his way of saving his pride. Still, did figure skating partners really have to touch each other that much?

Your practice was running longer than usual, and Rin had ended up sitting on a bench, silently watching. His eyes followed the way you spun and glided across the ice with a kind of grace he didn’t think anyone else could match.

It was nice finally being in the same place for once. The Olympics were in Paris, which meant your team was here, and Rin had already been staying in the city while playing for PXG. But just because he was supportive didn’t mean he enjoyed watching you get flung around and held by someone else. Even if it was just for work.

He watched you land another clean spin and gave a small nod, clearly impressed. Rin wasn’t the type to clap or cheer, but there was always this silent confidence about him, like he was daring someone to argue that his significant other wasn’t the best on the ice. His support was quiet but intense, the kind that could only come from someone like him.

After practice ended, you noticed Rin was gone from the stands, even though you swore he was just there. It didn’t take long to find him though. Sharing locations came in handy. The pin on your phone led you to a smaller ice rink nearby, and you couldn’t help the amused little smile that tugged at your lips as you got closer.

There he was, wobbling in the middle of the rink, his brows furrowed in deep focus. He clung to the railing as he tried to slide along, clearly frustrated and partially fighting for his life.

You already knew what this was about… that cute little jealous streak he always got after watching you skate with someone else.

When he heard you stifle a laugh, Rin whipped his head toward you, narrowing his eyes as he clung tighter to the ledge.

“What’s so funny, huh? You laughing at me?” he scoffed, but there wasn’t any real bite behind it, just enough to make you laugh harder as you stepped onto the ice and slid over to him, your hands gently settling on his shoulders.

“I bet I skate better than your… shitty partner.”

He muttered that last part with the tiniest annoyed whine, turning his head away like a pouty kid. You both knew how ridiculous it was. Rin wasn’t a skater, probably never would be. But for now, the two of you could stumble around the ice together, just enough to ease that little jealous ache in his chest.
