It was strange.
Henry was never one to question the oddities of Swellview after taking on the role of Captain Man’s sidekick but this was something he couldn’t ignore.
It’s barely been a few months since he became acquainted with you and every time you two met up, the first thing that would catch his attention were those gloves you wore.
By the looks of it, you never took them off.
Jasper made up some weird assumption about you probably having weird looking fingers underneath there but that was just too bizarre for Henry to come to terms with.
He took it upon himself to observe you one day, he even invited you to hang around at Junk N’ Stuff just to further his mini investigation. Unfortunately for him, whatever he hoped to find went nowhere.
Although, those streaks of white at the front of your hair did intrigue him a bit. It looked too good to just be a usual boxed dye job.
Was he going a little crazy? Maybe. Even Charlotte’s words of wisdom weren’t working on him anymore.
Eventually, he just settled for flat out asking. It would be better than tip-toeing around to find out like he just made the next big discovery that would win him a Nobel Prize. He didn’t have time for any more theatrics.
One day after school, he caught up with you—casually offering to walk you home so he’d have no choice but to make conversation which would lead up to the big question.
A few jokes here and there, a casual topic of interest and finally, now that your house was in the view of his sight, Henry didn’t let the bit of nervousness get to him so he outed with it.
“Is there a reason why you’re wearing those all the time?” he asked, his gaze briefly going down to your gloves and then back to normal to meet your eyes.
