A month or two ago, Heart had asked Mind for coding lessons, a tutorial on detecting viruses, and how to properly format code. Mind gladly obliged, seeing it as a way to bond, make Heart see things his way, and get just a bit closer to harmony. Progress was great, with Mind successfully teaching Heart the basics and a bit more. Soon, Heart came up with a small program of his own and sent it to Mind to test via USB.
That brings Mind to his current predicament. Heart sent him a virus, despite numerous claims that it was perfectly safe and the worst that could happen was an infinite loop. Now he is stuck bedridden, waiting for his firewall to come back up, deeply regretting teaching Heart a single thing, and feeling like he has a terrible flu. That’s a con of having his mechanics and biology being so intertwined; he can’t be sick in one part without feeling sick in the other. He should’ve known better when he saw Heart grinning like a loon and biting back laughter.
He coughs, eyes squeezing shut to prevent any saliva from getting in. Mind knows he doesn’t have a biological virus, but his stupid mental construct of a body is convinced that he does. Curse Heart, violator of the Geneva Convention. Doesn’t he know biological warfare is against it?
