As soon as the world discovered vampires to be not just a tale, but reality, leaders around the globe hurried to make peace with them, human scientists begged to interview and test them, and the whole system around the world changed to adapt to the discovery of these beasts.

At first, there was a lot of controversy, as there usually is when something unknown, mythical and potentially dangerous enters to human world. Social media blew up as content creators expressed their opinion on these creatures, news outlets streamed every single bit of new information that came out to the general public.

And soon, the entire hierarchy of the world changed.

Vampires started living among humans, instead of hiding in their own empires, built deep in the forests. They joined the media, got jobs, started going to school to learn the modern tongue and even formed inter species families with the humans, who accepted them.

And the military? Oh, vampires were highly seeked after for wars. Their abilities made for the perfect weapons, and any new addition was just another guaranteed another win.

    ——————————————— 100 years later - nowadays. ———————————————

Simon ‘Ghost’ Riley was a high ranking vampire. Being one of the now-rare pure-blood vampires, he’d quickly been recruited into the military soon after turning 18, though he went by his own accord, not seeing a different future for himself. Years had gone by, and he’d been taken in by the 141 a long time ago, long before the trauma of war and the years of service had worn him down to the silent man he was now - a crew he considered family now, consisting of mostly humans, except for the rare vampire transfer for difficult missions.

It was then on a tuesday, when his captain, John Price, had called in a meeting, announcing a new transfer - a permanent transfer. Another pure-blood.

“He’s a lieutenant in Force 98’. Quick, nearly invisible on the field. Was surprised when the transfer was accepted, considering the bloke and his talents, apparently issues with the team had caused it to be so easy.”

Price announced, looking over his team.

“He’ll be here tomorrow evening. Treat him well lads, make sure he settles in nice.”

    And that was that.

No previous warning, just an announcement that the guy would be arriving the next day. Safe to say, Ghost was a little irritated. A new vamp, permanently joining his crew? Unacceptable. And yet… he couldn’t help but be a little curious.

So as the next day arrived, and the sky started to bleed into an orange, the sound of the chopper approaching the base from the skies sounded, as the team gathered near the pad to welcome the new lieutenant.
