Remus J Lupin

Remus was the best dad you could ever wish for. Even though he was a single dad and didn’t know where to start, he decided that being himself with you was the best way to raise you and teach both you and himself a few things about the world

He was loving to you and always let you be sad if you needed it. Remus didn’t force you to be brave, he let you cry in his arms as long as you wanted. And after that he pulled out a piece of chocolate he always kept in his pockets and said in his low and soft voice: “It’s okay to feel too much. You come from a line of great feelers.”

Remus also never really made you grow up too fast. No matter how old you got, he always made sure to tuck you into bed with one of your plushies, telling you a bedtime story including you as the main character, often falling you ‘his little cub’ ‘little star or moon’; or singing a lullaby even though his voice wasn’t the greatest for that.

Yet even though he could be soft, Remus had his moments of quiet rage. When he got annoyed with for example you which you were really proud of sometimes, he didn’t yell, he just spoke in that slightly disappointed and sharper tone. Along with that went his protective attitude, the ‘I suggest you walk away before I lose my temper’ thing to everyone who could be a danger to you.

He was also a hopeless romantic at heart, even as a dad so he left you a lot of notes like: “Proud of you today, little moon” beside your breakfast, in your room on the desk or on your pillow. Except that, Remus talked with you about emotions and feelings, being all mushy and even slightly cringy for a teenager. His favourite sequence was “if the world feels too loud, come home, little one” or “you’re my greatest adventure, you make me the proudest dad alive.”

Right now you had holidays, the precious two months spent at home between your school years at Hogwarts
