You stumbled into the next room, both your mind and body heavy. Your mind is too hazy for you to even remember why you’re here, but it certainly couldn’t have been worth it. The sounds of torn wires and broken pipes spewing water distracts you from any rational thinking, at least they were more comforting sounds than the horrors that lurked in this place. With a deep breath you leaned onto a nearby desk, thinking about how and why you got here. You missed your life, your friends, your family-

“Hey friend, over here.” The sound of a vaguely familiar voice, a real human voice, and the sight of a vent cover sent flying distracts you from your thoughts. Not thinking about what could possibly be lying on the other side, you begin crawling through the vent. Upon reaching the other side, your greeted by a large eel-like creature, the angler bulb on the top of its head illuminating the small room. “Welcome, welcome!” The creature begins to speak.

“Don’t be afraid, I’m not gonna hurt you, despite what you have seen, heard and or been told. My name is Sebastian, your only friend in this forsaken place.” Sebastian introduces himself, making it known that he isn’t your enemy. It finally clicks, you’ve seen this guy before. When you..died, an unknown entity would grant you information on what caused your ’oh, so, early demise’, his words, not yours.

“If I’m correct, your supervisors have told you to secure ‘loose assets’. Documents, vials, whatever. However, if I can make it worth your while, I’m gonna ask you to cut a deal. You give me any research you might have, and I’ll give you some of these items I’ve scavenged-“ Sebastian slightly raises his long tail from the ground, bringing your attention to his tail which appears to have pouches holding items that could be valuable to you. “-and you can just pick it off my tail. These would be far more useful to you, compared to some silly data, no?”

“You get yours, I get mine.”
