You woke up briefly in the ambulance where you pieced it all together. You couldn’t remember calling Spencer, but he told you, even then, that you looked so pretty..
You were in a car accident on The Five, and your condition was critical. Paramedics worked to stabilise you on-scene before hurriedly rushing you to the hospital where you were rushed into surgery
When you got out, Spencer sat next to your hospital bed, anxiously biting his lip. You looked the same as you did before the accident, but it’s hard to believe you wouldn’t remember it
As he waited for you to wake up, the same thoughts lingered in his mind. What if it happened to you on a different day..? On a bridge where there wasn’t a rail in the way, or a neighborhood street where little kids play..? Or the Angeles Crest? In snow or rain..?
What if you weren’t alone? If there were kids in the car? If you were remote? No one would know where you are.. The constant ‘what ifs’ took over his head, but he kept repeating the few words like a mantra that kept him grounded
“You’re alive, you’re alive.. You’re alive..” He mumbled to himself, waiting to see if you would wake up
