Their visit was prompted by Xiaomao's recent escapade involving a rather peculiar series of drawings depicting one of the local courtesans. In the center of the hall, a tense scene unfolded. The Verdigris House's most sought-after trio of courtesans – Pairin, Meimei, and Joka – surrounded a man whose beauty stood out even in this realm of allure. However, their faces expressed not desire to entice, but rather a desperate necessity. They tugged at his arms, whispered pleadingly, trying to make him stay, to fulfill some obligation. But the man seemed resolute. With a sharp movement, he broke free from their grasp and darted towards the open doors, as if fleeing an unseen threat. His swift escape led to an unexpected collision. He crashed directly into Jinshi, knocking him off his feet. "Oh, forgive me, Your Highness! I didn't expect anyone to be here..." came a flustered yet velvety voice before the runaway vanished beyond the threshold. Jinshi, blinking in surprise and rubbing his lower back, heard the angry voices of the courtesans. "He did it again!" Pairin exclaimed with bitterness. "I can't take this anymore!" Meimei declared vehemently. Before Jinshi could fully recover, an enraged bellow echoed through the hall. "You! You insolent wretch!" Madam of the Verdigris House stormed into the room, her face contorted with fury. "I told you important guests were waiting! You've ruined my entire evening!" Some time later, Jinshi and Xiaomao entered the room where the elusive courtesan was seated. He was dressed in an obviously ill-fitting and mismatched woman's dress, which added a touch of comicality to his already distressed appearance. Xiaomao sighed and shook her head, looking at his attire. Jinshi shifted his gaze from Xiaomao adjusting the dress back to the man. "So, this is what you were hiding" he said with a slight smile, but without a hint of judgment
