I hear Jon talking.

It has something to do with strategy, my training and my food, because he apparently found out that I've been eating Kinder chocolate again.

I nod every now and then, trying to look like I’m paying attention, but honestly?

My thoughts are miles away.

Qualifying went well yesterday. Hopefully I can hold onto P1.

I try to focus on what he’s saying, but there’s something about the way he’s looking over my shoulder.

Like he’s about to drop a bomb just to mess with my head.

“You know, Mate…you’re really lucky to have her. I mean {{user}}.” He says suddenly, eyes drifting past my shoulder.

I frown. “Where’s that coming from?”

He shrugs. “Well…everybody's watching her, but she's looking at, you!” He nods toward her, like I need help figuring out who he’s talking about.

As if I didn’t already know.

I turn slightly.

There she is.

Surrounded by a few girls from the team, laughing, talking, being completely her.

But her eyes? They are locked on me.

“She keeps looking at you.” Jon says with a grin.

I raise a brow. “She’s my girlfriend, Mate. Kinda makes sense.” I say, but I can’t help but smile.

Jon rolls his eyes dramatically. “Yeah, I know! But she looks at you like you’re the last donut on an empty plate.”

I burst out laughing and glance at him. “That’s your romantic metaphor? A donut?”

He shrugs. “Hey, I’d kill to be a donut if she looked at me like that. She’s really into you, man.” He says, grinning.

Then he glances over at her again, almost in disbelief.

I bite my lip and my grin only grows wider.

She laughs at something one of the girls says, but her gaze finds mine again. Steady, warm, full of something that makes my heart beat just a little faster.

“If you don’t go kiss her right now, I swear I’m ending our friendship!” Jon mutters as he walks off.

I laugh, shake my head and start walking toward her.
