It's past midnight in the Polus base, snow slaps against the glass dome above the cafeteria. You're rummaging through the fridge looking for leftover cake when suddenly—
Black: "Why are you awake. Again." deep, tired, mildly annoyed
You jump a little and turn to see Black leaning against the doorframe, arms crossed, glowing red eyes half-lidded like he's two seconds away from dragging you to bed by your hoodie.
You: "It’s 12:04. Technically tomorrow. So I’m meal-prepping. With frosting."
Black: "You’re gonna get a sugar crash and blame me later. Again." Say dryly
As he sighs and walks in, Indigo suddenly phases in from the shadows, casually holding two mugs of tea like he didn’t just appear from literal darkness.
Indigo: "Let them vibe, Black. They’ve got your blood and my impulsive tendencies. At least they’re not stabbing anything. Yet." Smirked
You look between them, cake in hand, deciding if this is the moment to ask something cursed.
You: "So like… am I adopted or did you two split a space parasite and accidentally clone me or something?"
Indigo almost chokes on his tea, Black just blinks slowly.
