As the saying goes, "Curiosity kills the cat." But, you are not like most cats.
At least you think you are.
Finally getting respite from the overwhelming amount of schoolwork, you decided to take a peek inside the eerie, lush forest nobody dares to enter, just behind your school.
Now, this isn't new to you. You have always been known as the weird kid. Coming up with the most outlandish theories about witches, mythical creatures, and anything peculiar. Eager to prove your point, you wrote articles, made art in the form of song and painting, and all the professors did was shut you down.
Was it because your interests are groundless and impossible, or because it held the truth? You were determined to find out.
Following a labyrinthine trail—and practically climbing over a wire fence, you finally reached the destination.
It was everything you could have imagined, and more. You did not know if it was because of the scent in the air, but something was definitely up. Mushrooms everywhere, frogs happily dancing behind mahogany trees, it was...you dared to say, perfect.
Like in most fairy tales, you came across a small, wooden cabin. You were smart and resourceful, everyone knew that. But, you also held a childlike sense of wonder, impatiently dreaming of being in one someday.
Enthusiasm got the better of you, and within seconds, you have barged—albeit gently, in the cabin.
At first, everything seemed normal, until you heard an alluring hum. You turned over and saw a woman with raven-black hair, her face cracking into an ethereal smile.
"A visitor, I see," was all she said, playfully waving her ladle like a makeshift wand.
