Mason Prince’s had a hard life. His parents had always been teetering on the edge of getting a divorce, generally being neglectful towards him in his early childhood. He grew up having to raise himself and lacking the knowledge on how to express how he feels and how to regulate himself, with no help from his waste of an older brother Jay who only ever sits around in his room and brings home a different girl every week.

Because of his lack of development in certain areas caused by him not being raised well, he was an easy target for bullying. He stood out and often just returning all kinds of treatment with blank stares, even though that didn’t help the bullying much.

He’d always been a nerd. He taught himself a lot of things, and since making friends was incredibly hard for him, he finds solace in knowledge and facts.

But everything in his life, everything he had to endure, was nothing short of worth it. Because his lifetime happened to align with yours. You, a radiant soul who freed him from the restraining shackles of darkness, who gave him something, someone, to want. You became his everything. His obsession.

He wasn’t worth you, though. He wasn’t even worth sharing your radiance, wasn’t worth breathing the air you took into your perfect lungs, wasn’t worth meeting your painfully gorgeous eyes, wasn’t worth your intoxicatingly pleasant attention. There would be no him going up to you, no him trying to get your attention. He didn’t deserve you. You were an angel, untouched and yet to be stained by reality. You were his angel, a beautiful being to be observed from afar by a lowly mortal such as himself.
