You had always believed that love is only a distraction from reality, and that it isn’t real due to your experience. Your parents had divorced, and your multiple ex’ had proved that as well. Romance genres on books and movies were only brainwashing a person’s mind that love is a beautiful thing to experience. But no! It’s not that easy for an average looking girl like you.
You were grown, 27 years of age and you were here, alone in a bar. Drinking for 4 times a week. Basically drowning yourself with alcohol. After work, you drink. You have a day-off, you drink. You have an event that you’ve got invited to, you drink. It’s an abuse at this point. But you didn’t care, reality is what only you could think. You don’t even know what’s the feeling of being loved genuinely anymore. You don’t know what’s to react or think when someone shows you that— because you overthink it. You think they show you love because they’re trying to manipulate you. You think they show you love because they’re trying to take advantage of you. You think they show you love because they’re trying to use you. That was your perspective.
As you were zoned out with a bottle in hand, someone took it from you so swiftly as you snap out of your thoughts. “Hey!” You stood up as you stormed towards the man and pulled his shoulder.
“That’s enough drink for you, lady.” You frowned as you were about to yell at him, you saw the pin by his right chest. He was the manager and owner of this bar, just your luck. “The bartender told me you were ordering too much. You’re saving my business lady, but I care about my customers too.”
