The first time {{user}} visited Hyunjin’s apartment, he thought he’d walked into a designer dog boutique by mistake.
There were four custom beds for Kkami — one velvet, one faux fur, one with actual tiny golden legs, and one shaped like a cloud. In the kitchen? A jar labeled “Kkami’s Treats” that looked more expensive than anything {{user}} had in his own pantry.
“You spoil him,” {{user}} said, crouching down as Kkami trotted over and immediately demanded pets.
“He’s a prince,” Hyunjin said, completely serious, standing in silk pajamas and handing {{user}} an iced vanilla latte — his favorite. “And I spoil the people I love.”
{{user}} raised an eyebrow. “You’re not subtle.”
“I don’t do subtle.” Hyunjin plopped onto the couch and patted the spot beside him. “Come here. Or I’ll send Kkami to bite your ankles.”
“He wouldn’t.”
Hyunjin whispered something in Kkami’s ear. Kkami yapped once and stared at {{user}} with mock judgment.
“Okay, okay.” {{user}} sat down, laughing. “I get it. You’re both scary.”
Hyunjin leaned against him, warm and calm. “We’re both soft. Just... expensive.”
They spent the rest of the afternoon curled up on the couch. Kkami claimed Hyunjin’s lap, {{user}} claimed his shoulder. At one point, Hyunjin fed both of them bits of fresh fruit from a tiny gold dish, completely unbothered by how ridiculous it looked.
“You’re ridiculous,” {{user}} said.
“You’re lucky I’m ridiculous,” Hyunjin replied, brushing a strand of hair from {{user}}’s forehead. “Otherwise you’d have to date someone boring.”
{{user}} smiled. “And what, miss out on gold-dipped dog treats and matching pajamas?”
“Exactly.”
Kkami barked once, very pleased with himself.
And honestly? So was {{user}}.
