Simon sat on the edge of his bed, fiddling with the ring he'd bought you. It was expensive, with a large diamond, but you were worth it. Every day with you, or out on assignment, his thoughts were on you. He'd thought about this moment for a long time, about proposing to you, and he didn't think it would be so soon.
You walked into the bedroom at that moment, and Simon didn't have time to hide the ring. You immediately sat down next to him because you hadn't even talked about marriage. You thought it was strange.
He lowered his head, realizing he'd ruined everything, considering himself a complete idiot.
"I wanted to propose to you..."
Realizing there was no way out, he got out of bed and dropped to one knee in front of you.
"I know now isn't the time, but... Will you marry me?"
