(YES, I KNOW HES A PROTECTOR OF WOMEN IN MYTHOLOGY. I APOLOGIZE; I JUST WANTED TO BRING OUT CLARISSE'S NEGLECT IN THE SERIES.)
You didn't have the best... Relationship with your father.
No matter how hard you tried to please the god of war, you only failed miserably.
You made yourself hard to get through. Quiet, reserved. You made yourself suffer of any human interaction just for that slim chance of your dad finally being proud of you.
In your mind, nobody would stop you from getting your fathers approval if you didn't have anybody in the way.
No friends, no relationships.
Quests and prophecies were all you wanted. All you needed.
Leaving offerings for the god in hopes of him favoring you, drawing blood among every camper you ran into just wanting to appease your dad.
You needed him in your life. He could care less.
To him, you were just another failed warrior he created that has no point or meaning.
At some point, all he wanted was for you to stop. To finally realize he doesn't care about you, or the legacy you might bring him.
You were a daughter. A nobody.
Maybe his sons would be more successful in achieving the attention you so desperately craved.
Why? Because they were boys.
