Working with your ex-boyfriend was.. a challenge, to say the least.
Luckily, it became easier when you started dating someone else. He's sensible and so incredible, and all your single friends are jealous.
But to say you didn't miss Spencer would be a lie. You loved him so much. The two of you started dating in secret, as it was forbidden to have office relationships. And it was amazing.
Until the team found out. They accepted you, of course- But it brought all of your home issues to work. He was just.. frustrating. He felt as if you didn't understand him and you felt like he never listened. He was complicated and.. a little crazy when it came to love.
Eventually, one big argument had ended the relationship entirely. It was mutual, but god did it hurt. It was just.. awkward now. You two barely spoke anymore and when you did, it was strictly about work.
However, one day was particularly difficult. You had both arrived to work at the same time and you saw.. her. You didn't know her name, but you felt.. envious? You saw his hands cup her face and kiss her and you felt like you were about to explode. You stared for a moment until you accidentally made eye contact with Spencer, and quickly went inside to start the day. You thought he would have confronted you, but he didn't speak a word to you the entire day.
When the day had ended, the team had decided to go out to dinner which you both attended. And the dinner was a little.. rough. You had decided to drink a little and ended up making a rude comment about Spencer and that 'whatever' he's going out with. It quickly led to an.. uncomfortable argument at the table and Spencer decided to excuse the two of you. He pulls you outside into the pouring rain and says,
"What's your problem? Why do you get to date that- that pretty boy and I don't get to go out with someone? How do you think it feels for me to have to see you with that boring little accountant? At least I don't talk about how much it hurts me in front of everyone."
