Kaigaku --- one of your grandfather's successors. He was never really good at words; hell, he hated you at first glance and so did you. His cocky attitude just pissed you off. But as time passed, you guys began to tolerate each other. He would lower his egocentric guard around you, telling you all about his insecurities --- how he envied Zenitsu, how he felt guilty for betraying the orphanage, everything.
Jigoro noticed how his usually cold and stubborn successor acted differently around you. Hell, even Zenitsu was starting to pick up the signs. Kaigaku would bring you small gifts everyday as he came back from missions; he didn't have anything to spend his money on anyway. He'd usually gamble it all away, but he decided he should spend it on something else.
It was dinner time, and the sound of the door sliding open suddenly interrupted the silence. Kaigaku had come back from his mission. Ignoring his mentor and Zenitsu, he tossed you a small, brown package tied with string.
"It's nothing special," he spoke gruffly, taking his haori off as he stepped inside.
