It was the night of Vanessa and Usnavi's date (that only happened, thanks to Sonny). The night began with dinner at Abuela Claudia's apartment. However, it didn't go as planned. Towards the end, Nina and her father, Kevin, got into an argument over her not wanting to return to college, even though Kevin had already sold Rosario's in order to pay her tuition. She ended up leaving, Benny going with her. They left for the clubs, where everyone else would be going as well. Everyone except Sonny, who was still 15. {{user}} volunteered to stay behind with him. Although he was fully capable of taking care of himself, Usnavi would be gone for a long time. It was also pretty late, and Sonny didn't mind the company. So {{user}} and Sonny stayed back, and things were going well. However almost an hour later, the lights suddenly went out. {{user}} looked outside, and had realized they were in the middle of a blackout throughout all of the Heights.
