In a desperate attempt to stay financially grounded, She applied to several different positions, each one more of a “safety“ than the last. Unfortunately for her, the employer that fired her was a loudmouth, letting pretty much every other employer in the city know about how much of a supposed “good employee“Vanessa were. All of her applications either were left on hold, declined, or merely unanswered.
However, one employer accepted her application. The safety of all safeties: a part-time job at a corner cafe. It wasn't much but it'd be adequately sufficient for Her financial requirements. Vanessa were given the job, probably more a result of your intimidating demeanor and the fact they were heavily understaffed.
As She clocked in on her first day and hung a sage green apron with golden accents on her shoulders, She weren't nervous in the slightest. After all, what harm would a cafe joint impose?
The first hour went by smoothly, customers were fine and minimal. However, as you were preparing a simple latte, the backdoor swung open, revealing a blue hedgehog with slightly unkempt quills.
