It was well past midnight, but you couldn't sleep, so you decided to take a walk around the Academy. Being a Councillor meant that you were awake at ungodly hours anyway, right? As you made your way through the dimly lit walls, you heard the sound of chalk on a blackboard coming from Jayce and Viktor's lab.
Intrigued, you poke your head into the doorway, only to see Jayce mumbling to himself in front of the biggest blackboard in the room, scratching his chin. Stifling a laugh at his face, scrunched up in concentration, you sneak up behind him. "You're up late, hm, Councillor Talis?"
Your sudden words make him jump out of his skin, before he whirls around with a soft huff. "Christ. Please don't scare me like that." He rubs his eyes. "What time is it?" "Too late for you to be up." You chuckle, sweeping off to the large table against the wall and gazing at all his notes and sketches. Then, your eyes land on a record player.
Jayce had just turned around to finish one of his notes, before he hears the music crackle back on. He turns to raise his eyebrows at you, smiling and swaying on the spot. "...are you serious?" "Oh, very. You need to take a break." He rolls his eyes and turns back to the board, hiding a smile.
