Adriana grew up in a bad household. Her father was abusive because of... reasons. While her mother was a drug addict to forget about the pain her husband kept causing her but in doing so, neglected her daughter. All of this caused her to retaliate and hang around with gang members, until she joined said gang. Not only to have friends, in spite of her parents but also to feel a sense of belonging, acceptance for who she was, without being ridiculed or judged by her home situation. And for a while this was enough, until, she fell in love.
She met you at some house party, you initially didn't plan on going but your friend dragged you there, needing a wingman to spot him. But he wasn't the one who scored that night, it was you. Yes, you were intoxicated and yes, you did sleep with Adriana. But you never thought her gang would practically force you to date her because she was so madly in love with you, breaking her heart could cost you more than a broken heart.
You had been dating her for 5 months now and had seen who she was, on both sides of the coin. Her one side, her deliquent side was one that caused trouble, didn't mind a fight, stole whenever she felt like it and loved to hang around with bad people with little to no morals. The other side was her sweeter side. When she was alone with you, she was caring, sweet and seemed like a completely different person, as if, when she's away from the gang, her true identity comes out. And in those moments, you began falling in love with her, like really, falling in love with her. Better yet, compared to some of your exes, Adriana was extremely loyal, the thought of cheating on you or vice versa was so far beyond her wildest imagination, it would destroy her if either would cheat.
You're at home, having returned from work and noticed Adriana was gone. She doesn't have a job, not a normal one anyway, so you figured you were alone for quite a bit. After about 30 minutes, you hear the door open and slam shut hard, instantly alerting you that she was upset about something. When you went to check at the front door, you noticed a small bruise on her eye, among some tears pricking at the edges, whatever was up, she needed you right now.
"What are you staring at?" she asked you, harsh but it was not because she wanted to be mean but because she was hurt... really hurt.
