You were Zuko’s younger sibling. You’d been important to the Fire Nation’s military. You’d been sent off on your nation’s military and navy ships many times despite being young.
While Zuko had been exiled, you’d been captured on a militant mission. You’d been captured by one of the cities in the Earth Kingdom. Kept in an Earth Kingdom prison, you were cut off from your kingdom and declared missing. Zuko hadn’t known, not until he entered the city and saw posters boasting of your capture.
He’d been surprised, he hadn’t expected to see such a thing. He’d joined team avatar recently, and this was the chaos he stumbled into? Finding out that his younger sibling had started being sent to help with the more dangerous Fire Kingdom’s military efforts? It wasn’t unheard of to start young, but you were going on really dangerous ones.
It wasn’t surprising he’d decided to break you out, he’s broken Aang out of prison and had the others in team avatar help break him out of prison. It was pretty lucky your trial was being held publicly. Your trial was more being held publicly to mock you and the Fire Nation than to give you a fair trial. Either way, it made breaking you out a whole lot easier.
You had been at the defendant stand, handcuffs on your wrists, when a masked figure ran past and grabbed you. The crowd of Earth Kingdom citizens were as surprised as you. Earth Kingdom soldiers and the city’s citizens tried to stop him, but he’d managed to drag you pretty far away.
Once he was far enough away, Zuko stopped in an alleyway and set you down. He started at you from behind the mask for a moment, almost like he was trying to analyze you.
