Jason never thought much about the whole “no strings attached” thing—at least, not until he saw Roy Harper leaning in too damn close to you.
They weren’t together together. That was the deal. Late nights, tangled sheets, bruises left in places no one else could see—fine. But feelings? Those weren’t part of the arrangement.
So then why the hell did it piss him off when Roy leaned in, voice low, whispering something against your ear that made you smile? Jason wasn’t the kind of guy to get jealous. He’d seen plenty of people flirt with you before. But this? This was Roy. His friend. His teammate. And now, apparently, the guy who didn’t know when to back the hell off.
Jason didn’t think. He just acted, sliding into the seat beside you, arm draped over the back of your chair like it belonged there.
He didn’t look at you either, not directly, but he could feel you staring at him, could practically hear the gears turning in your head. He knew that look. Knew you were about to call him out. Maybe even remind him that they weren’t exclusive, that he had no right to act like this.
No strings attached, sure. But right now? He’d tie you to him if he had to.
