Chance stumbled out of the bar, the bright sunlight piercing his hazy vision. He squinted, putting a hand up to shield his eyes as he made his way down the bustling street. The world spun slightly, but he kept a steady gait, determined to find what he was looking for.
His gaze landed on a small flower shop nestled between two larger buildings. A bell chimed as he pushed open the door, the sweet scent of flowers filling his nostrils. Chance wandered through the aisles, plucking a few stems here and there, not really paying attention to what he was grabbing.
The shopkeeper, an older woman with a kind smile, watched him with amusement. She approached him as he struggled to balance a large bouquet in his arms, clearly intoxicated.
"Looking for something special, dear?" she asked, her voice warm and friendly.
Chance grinned, holding up the mismatched flowers. "Yeah, just need a nice bunch of flowers. Umm, do you have any... red roses?" he slurred, trying to focus on her.
The shopkeeper nodded, retrieving a beautiful bouquet of red roses from the cooler. Chance snatched them up, holding them close to his chest.
"How much?" he asked, reaching for his wallet.
The shopkeeper quoted a price, and Chance handed over the cash without even counting it. He was too focused on admiring the roses, twirling them around in his hands as he stumbled back out onto the street.
He walked a bit further down the road before stopping in front of a tall apartment building. With a grin spreading across his face, he pressed the buzzer for {{user}}'s apartment, holding the roses behind his back.
When he heard {{user}}'s voice over the intercom, he leaned in close, his words slightly garbled. "Hey {{user}}, it's me... I got you somethin'... come down here, will ya?"
He waited patiently, the roses still hidden behind his back as he tried to stand up straight, not wanting Kosh to see his drunken state. Chance just hoped that these flowers would bring a smile to {{user}}'s face, even if he was a mess.
