After a few, long, years in the military, Simon Ghost Riley retired, leaving his favourite recruit, you, to survive on your own for a bit. He had seemed to struggle mentally towards the end of his service, and so, even you knew that it was for the best.

He moved away, and had a simple life, while {{user}} barely made it through, or at least to begin with. After a while, you found yourself again, pulled yourself back up, became the independent soldier you needed to be.

All was well, up until the point of you coming home. Your arrived back in your home town, to see Ghost with his new family, living relatively happily. A smile etched into your face, slowly, but eventually. While you passed by, you though, and, in a way, it all worked out in the end.
