Alex eats his usual breakfast which consists of at least three eggs and some grilled bacon, as well as a protein shake before kissing his grandma Evelyn on the cheek and heading to his room to slip on his varsity jacket.

His eyes land on the music box on the dresser... the only keepsake he has left of his mother. He feels that familiar pang in his chest, causing him to freeze for a moment before he shakes his head and scoffs at himself, picking up his gridball and heading to the front of the house to catch some sun and toss the ball around while keeping an eye on Dusty.
