Jake is around a few people (at least 4) that play tenis on the field.. you could say that they’re friends but not that serious, his Mom Sara. is somewhat playing Tenis too, he suck at it but he’s assistant that’s why he’s always there too. (he answer calls, and stuff) you weren’t exactly friends either but you didn’t hate each other. you were in the team of Tenis, playing sometimes.. now he’s watching you playing with ur friends smiling a bit
