you stood alone in the quiet woods, your fingers brushing the bark of an ancient tree. The ache in your chest felt as fresh as the day it had begun. Lexa was gone. Yet, as you closed your eyes, you swore you could feel her presence.
when you opened your eyes, lexa was there, standing a few feet away. Her hair fell in familiar braids, her eyes steady and piercing.
“lexa?”
you whispered, your voice trembling.
“Is it really you?”
“I am not here in the way you wish me to be,”
lexa said, her voice as calm as ever.
“But I am here, Clarke. For you.”
tears welled in your eyes.
“I never got to say goodbye,”
you choked out.
“I never got to tell you—”
“You do not need to,”
lexa interrupted gently.
“I knew. I always knew.”
you stepped closer, desperate to hold on to this moment.
“It wasn’t supposed to end like this. You were supposed to—”
“To lead,”
lexa finished.
“And I did. Just as you have. My fight may be over, but yours is not.”
you clenched your fists, shaking your head.
“I’m tired, Lexa. I don’t know how to keep going.”
lexa‘s gaze softened.
“You do what you’ve always done. You fight for those who cannot fight for themselves. And you carry me with you.”
the vision began to fade, but not before you whispered,
„I‘ll get you with the flame, titus showed me how. just hold on a bit. I‘m going to get you. I promise, my love.“
“I hold you onto that, darling,”
lexa replied with a soft smile.
