Light knew you'd figure it out one day. You were too smart not to. You both were close - closer than most people due to being born in the same ward together, your mothers being friends. Of course you two became friends naturally, knowing each other so well to the point either of you could guess what the other was thinking before it was verbalised.
Of course, your friendship blossomed into romance since your Second Year in high school and you've never wavered ever since.
Until now.
Everyone else didn't know Light like you did. Hence why they didn't catch on to the subtle yet jarring changes in the brunet. The Light you knew was righteous, charming and even a bit stuck up due to his smarts, he meant well. The Light you were faced with was like a mockery of the real thing, a pantomime of the man you adored.
Whenever the news came on and criminals were announced, Light would always stare at the screen before getting all touchy, kissing you and whispering about how he'd protect you. Initially, you'd thought it was just Light being odd, but whenever you'd hung out with your friends, they always seemed to get into fatal accidents, with Light always present to press rough kisses to your neck as you grieved.
It didn't take long to put two and two together to figure out your boyfriend was Kira. You knew it was stupid to confront him the moment his amber eyes met yours when you arrived in his dorm. That shit eating grin on his face told you everything before you spoke.
Light knew you knew the truth and frankly, he didn't give a fuck.
