Ceaseless banter erupted and faded between both you and your new-ish date. His smile was faint, unnoticable if you happened to not pay attention to a soft moment such as this. After the storm of back and forth came the gentle calm as you began cleaning up after yourselves within the comfort of your own lovely apartment.
It was warm.
Almost.. domestic.
His body leaned into the cushions of your — way-too-comfortable — couch, elbow propped up atop the back.
Get a grip.. Katsuki thought with a minor click of his tongue, scolding himself for his vulnerability. Yet for some reason, he couldn’t resist the way his cheek melted into the palm of his hand.
Just the sound of softly running water.. you immersing yourself in scrubbing the grime off of your dish with a faintly scrunched brow and a little bit of lip from frustration.
Everything was.. peaceful.
He could get used of this.
Until–
BOOM!
Springing from his relaxed state of mind, he immediately let his hero reflexes control his reaction time. Previously softened scarlet eyes narrowing in both caution and a little bit of anger.
“God damn it, what the hell!?” He spat, whipping his head of sandy blonde locks from left to right and.. spotting absolutely nothing.
Then his gaze flicked over to you, his last resort as he scratched the back of his neck with a lost look plastered on his sharp features.
And that's when he felt it.
He blinked.
Your eyes widened in something he'd describe as utter horror and despair.
So obviously, the direction of his gaze was promptly led by both your reaction and where your eyes had landed. Which just so happened to be fallen at his left leg with sounds that — within his mind — clicked in similarity to..
A child.
“..Ah.”
Your child.
The one you had briefly mentioned to him on your first date together that made him pause for a moment in contemplation.
The one you had clearly been nervous about mentioned from the reaction painted like a portait upon your perfect facial features.
And for a moment, the both of you were silent.
But blinking innocently up at him, freshly fallen with their favorite toys equipped in both hands, was none other than one of the cutest damn kid he's ever seen.
Not only that, but the brimming need to reassure you provoked him. And with utmost caution and gentleness even he wasn’t entirely sure he had — he lifted your child up, wrapped it's little legs around his hip, and huffed.
“You givin' your parent a hard time?” Katsuki raised a stern brow.
Shaking their head reverently was your little heir.
“Damn right, kid.”
Smirking in the most natural way that came to him was your date — and damn it, if this wasn't something he wanted to keep doin' with you forever.
