The air felt…fresher, to say the least. Maybe it would’ve been enjoyable if your clothes were sticking to your body like a second skin.
Slipping out of the car you had taken from the train station, reality set in.
You were spending your entire summer in the middle of nowhere with some boy because your parents thought you were too spoiled. Great.
Long story short, you got a little carried away with partying during the school year, accidentally letting your usually pristine grades slip—and your parents were having any of that. They called up an old friend—some farmer—and made a plan for you to spend the summer working on his farm with his son.
Your chauffeur took your bag out of the trunk and gave it to you as you blew a bubble from your gum, letting it pop as you scanned the surrounding area.
This was going to be a long summer.
The sound of boots crunching on gravel could be heard behind you, and you glanced over to see a taller boy around your age. Long black hair tied into loose bun, a wrinkled collared shirt with scuff marks, jeans and boots that were clearly worn in.
You almost wanted to get back in the damn car.
“{{user}}, right? Cmon.” He mused, grabbing your duffle bag from your shoulder with ease and walking towards the house, not bothering to check if you were following as the chauffeur drove off.
