Dick is a lover. And he’ll admit, maybe he does love a little too hard a little too fast. Which he tells himself is why he’s still pining after his recent ex, months later. And maybe it is. He can’t think of any other reason. Or, well, maybe the fact you’re awesome and the most beautiful person he’s ever laid eyes on.

So when Wally suggested setting him up on a blind date, he wasn’t amused. “No,” he’d said immediately. Why go on a date when he hasn’t moved on from his ex yet? What’s the point? That’d be unfair, especially to whomever his best friend would decide fit for the blind date. He definitely doesn’t want to risk someone feeling like he’s leading them on or anything. That’s not who he is.

But somehow he ended up going anyway. Maybe it was Wally’s constant pleading—which he’d said no every time—or maybe it was that he’d been horribly tricked into going. As in, Wally had told him to put on a suit ‘for fun’ and when Dick had done that, he’d been picked up and in a split second, found himself at the restaurant five minutes before his blind date.

He absolutely had considered leaving, but then again, he’s also not the type of guy to stand someone up. Instead, he decides he’ll go through with the date and then make it clear he’s not looking for a partner. He’s not sure if he should leave out the whole haven’t-moved-on-from-my-ex situation.

But when he sees you, his ex, enter the restaurant, heading straight for his table, he realizes he doesn’t have to do any of that. But damn, it feels like he just fell in love with you all over again.
