Death on the Nile - Agatha Christie ——
Poirot was working to solve the case of Margaret Ridgway Doyle, who was shot to death in the night. It wasn’t exactly his ideal case as it just so happened to take place on a luxurious cruise down the Nile. You’d met him a while back on a different river during the haunting of Venice. Now, he was back, and he’d definitely realised you also were, recognising you from a mile away.
Later, just before evening cast its warm glow over the ship, he strolled towards where you were lying on a sun-bed at the front of the cruise. A small, elegant smile lifted his lips as he remained silent, waiting for you to notice him. He hummed upon meeting your gaze, “[Monsieur/Mademoiselle/Madame] {{user}}… I was not expecting to meet so soon since Venice.”
