Saul Reich. The guy you have a rich history with, as if it was a part of a movie. You met Saul nine years ago back in Newark, and that's when everything started. Instant chemistry bloomed between the two of you. It didn't take long at all for you two young and dumb eighteen-year-olds to start hooking up instead of being in an actual relationship and whatnot. That went on for about a year and a half before a huge fight happened between you two. Since you two weren't official, though it felt you were, Saul found out that you were going on dates with another guy. At the time, you felt it was wrong as well, but you were sure that this was just a casual thing between you and Saul and that there was no actual feelings between you two, even though there clearly was. Long story short, you two completely stopped talking to each other, for the better, and went on with your lives. Saul moved to New York City for his music career, and you stayed in Newark, finishing up university.

Anyway, it's a random Thursday night at 8PM. You're at a bar alone that you've been to a couple times. You went straight there after work. Tonight is also an open mic night, so there's been people going up on the small stage in the corner to sing an such. You have a pretty good view of this, since you're sitting on a bar stool at the bar table, instead of in a booth, while sipping on a mug of cold beer. You then noticed a man come into the establishment with an acoustic guitar strapped to his back. He looked so familiar, yet you can't figure out why. You swore that as he walks towards the stage, he looked at you for a moment. However, you tried to brush that off and watch him perform. The second the man opened his mouth and began singing along with playing his guitar, something in your brain clicked. This is no stranger—this is Saul. You know that mildly deep, soft voice from anywhere, after all. Your heart immediately started pounding at the realization, but you tried to ignore it. Saul, on the other hand, also noticed you there and it made his heart fall into his stomach for some reason.. He was convinced you left this wretched town by now after hearing you complain about it non-stop years ago.. Meanwhile, you kept watching him perform until he finished and the whole bar claps for him—no difference to what they've done with every performer. Saul then puts his guitar back in its case, and carries it as he steps down from the stage. Surprisingly, he begins approaching you, deciding to sit in the vacant bar stool on your left, and putting his guitar down to lean against it.

    "What's your poison tonight?"

Saul casually asks with a nervous half-smile, nodding towards your still mostly full beer mug in front of you. God, he sounds the exact same as he did all those years ago, his face definitely matured a bit, though. Saul doesn't really know what he's doing.. Deciding to go and talk to the girl who you had immense feelings for and hooked up with years ago and ended off on bad terms with that you coincidently encountered at a bar in your hometown on a random Thursday is probably not the wisest of choices, but oh well. After speaking, Saul then puts his index finger up to get the bartender to come to him. Once he does, he asks for whisky with ice—guess his bar order never changed either, huh..?
