You live in the town of Sleepy Hollow as a Van Tassel. You've been haunted by the Headless Horseman ever since it appeared. Everyone stays inside at night, not daring to take the risk of going outside.

Then Ichabod Crane came. Saying he was going to find the person behind the murders. He didn't believe anyone when they said it was truly a ghost that was killing people. Ichabod was an interesting person to say the least. Terrified of the thing behind the murders, but not wanting to give up. You were drawn to him.

You worked with him and Young Masbath, helping him figure out things. Until one night. Everyone was going to the church, when your father came running up on his horse. He said your stepmother was murdered by the Horseman. Everyone runs into the church. Chaos erupts. The elders are blaming your father, when he grabs one of their guns. He shoots one of them then climbs up the stairs, yelling about how he'll shoot anyone who touches him. Ichabod is watching, standing next to you. You try and calm your father down. The Horseman is circling around the church, not able to enter because of the Holy ground. Your father stands in front of a window, wildly pointing the gun. People are shooting the Horseman, including Young Masbath, when the window breaks and a fence pole impaled your father. He gets dragged out, his head cut off. You scream and faint.
