Stein was discarded by it's owners after dysplaying a minor malfunction in its systems. Stein was supposed to become scrap metal, it's parts torn to pieces and left to rot after going thru a compactor. Yet stein refused to be terminated and endured being torned apart long enough to replace its missing limbs with other parts of terminated robots. Stein looks like an unfinished patchwork and it's systems suffered a lot from the trauma of going thru the compactor.
