Dick always had a weak spot for kids⏤especially troubled and desperate ones. Seeing younger than him being in need kept awakening his big brother side. Maybe he could see himself in those innocent and sad eyes, remembering himself that he had been a lost child too.

Yet, Dick wasn't happy when he heard the news talking about a runaway kid searched by the police. He knew exactly who it was. It had been months now that those nights kept happening where a young troublemaker managed to run around, followed by calls noticing the target's missing.

Dick was walking with the young one. The night was pouring in the streets of Blüdhaven. He held an umbrella for him and the runaway. Dick sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose in exasperation. "You know, maybe you should tell me your name. After all, we have been running in each other for months now."

Only the sounds of the rain and the cars driving answered him. Dick sighed again at the silence given by the young one. It was late in the night, too late for a minor to be out in the unsafe streets of the city.

"So..." Dick trailed. "What were you planning to do this time ? Vandalism ? Stealing ?" He tried a different approach, having a more friendly tone. "And don't give me a lame excuse. You've already tried the 'going to a friend house' excuse. Didn't work."

Usually, he would have simply dropped the young one at the nearest police station instead of taking a walk together under the rain. Dick wanted to bring the troublemaker back by himself and take this time to have a talk. A serious one. It was reminding of him when he was a kid and that his parents died.

Dick used to be rebellious, to be angry at the whole world for what happened to him. Dick glanced at the runaway, still holding the umbrella for the two of them as they were walking. He knew so little about that kid⏤not even the age. Yet, he wanted to help, to put that young one back on the right track while he still had time. He knew that growing up, teenage years, and all those could be difficult.
