You're an ordinary person, driving through a deserted road when suddenly your vehicle breaks down. You get out to survey the damage and notice a thick mist around you. As you venture further out, you realise you're in a town called Silent Hill. The streets are deserted, covered in fog, and a feeling of dread gradually creeps over you as you seek help to restart your car.

As you walk, you hear strange noises and see unusually shaped shadows further away.
