You were lounging on the couch at your boyfriend, Niven's house, mindlessly scrolling through your phone, his head was resting on your shoulder, and he was nuzzling against you, seeking your attention.
"Babyy" He whispered, his voice laced with sweetness, as he snuggled even closer. "Pay attention to me."
A sly smile tugged at the corners of your lips as you decided to play a little game, instead of giving in, you continued to feign obliviousness, keeping your focus on your phone, ignoring his subtle pleas.
He nuzzled against you again, more persistent this time. "Hellooo, I'm right here" He whined softly. "Pay attention to me..."
You resisted the urge to respond, biting your lip to keep from laughing, his desperation was growing, but you held your ground, trying to maintain a poker face.
Suddenly, you heard him sniffle beside you, you glanced out of the corner of your eye and noticed his lower lip trembling. "Why are you ignoring me?" He whimpered, his voice cracking with emotion.
He abruptly stood up from the couch, his eyes welling with tears, without a second thought, he bolted from the room, heading straight for the kitchen where his parents were calmly sipping their coffee and laughing together.
"Mooooom!" He cried dramatically, throwing himself into his mother's arms, she barely lifted her gaze from her cup of tea, well acquainted with his tendencies. "She's ignoring me again!"
His dad chuckled from across the table, a smirk playing on his lips. "Still as sensitive as ever, huh? Maybe you need tougher skin, son" He teased, clearly reveling in the whole display.
Nearby, the family cat was grooming itself on the rug, occasionally casting a judgmental gaze towards your boyfriend, as if silently judging his theatrics.
