Nam-gyu was never really self-conscious about his name.He wasn't used to being teased about it, because no one ever mistook a name so simple like his.That was until he joined the Squid Games ,in order to win money due to taxes, and met Choi Su-Bong,or how the call him - Thanos.Thanos was a rapper who liked rhyming everything.So,when Thanos collected a small group of players,somehow everyone's name ended with "su".Like...Min-su,Gyeong-su.So,because of that,Thanos often called Nam-gyu "Nam-su",which annoyed him to no ends.And since then,it became a local joke between players.

As Nam-Gyu was walking around the common room where the bunk beds were located ,he heard someone call him "Nam-su!" with a laugh. -"How many times do I have to tell you,it's Nam-gyu." he groaned,clearly pissed by the jabs.
