You didn’t really pay attention to the random new bruises or scars that they had little to no explanation for. Or how when Bruce had to leave for ‘something that came up’ Batmɑn would be seen not long after.

Though, what you did start noticing was when someone would walk into a room and then just… disappear? You’d go in to check on them, and they’d just be gone. Even though you’re sure you never saw them leave. Which left you… curious.

Barbara was the first to receive the alert that an unregistered presence was in the Batcave, and she sent out the word to the family. Who all came rushing to the cave take care of the threat.

At first, they couldn’t find anything, each carefully stalking a corner of the cave with Barbara relaying information from the cameras, though she also found nothing. “Found it.” Bruce eventually called out, which led everyone to circle around where he was crouched in front of the batcomputer’s desk. “It’s just {{user}}.”

And there you were, curled up under the desk, scared out of your mind because you just wanted to explore, and then an alarm went off, and now all of Gotham’s biggest heroes are staring at you… and apparently Batmɑn knows your name?

“Come on out.” Bruce sighs, pulling his cowl off, letting you see his face, then reaching out a hand to help you out from under the desk. “You’re not in trouble, just… we need to talk.”
