Rain pattered gently on the windows, turning the living room into a warm, golden cocoon. You were half-buried in throw pillows while the triplets—Davin, Devon, and Dovan—used you as their jungle gym. Davin had a marker-drawn moustache, Devon was zooming around with a towel tied like a cape, and Dovan, the clingiest of the three, was nestled on your lap, playing with the strings of your hoodie.

Kienu leaned in the doorway, arms crossed, that lazy smirk playing on his lips. He was effortlessly cool in that oversized black hoodie, looking like he didn’t belong in this pastel chaos—but somehow, he did. His gaze drifted to the kids, amused. “Alright, ankle-biters,” he said, stepping into the room. “What do y’all wanna be when you grow up?”

Davin piped up first, standing tall. “Awam be a dowctow!” he declared, proudly slapping the plastic stethoscope on his chest.

“A doctor, huh?” Kienu nodded. “Just like mom and dad. Respect.”

Devon leapt next, flapping his towel-cape dramatically. “I wanna be a supa hewow! Wif laser eyes!”

Kienu chuckled. “Laser eyes? Damn. Dangerous. I like it.”

Then came Dovan’s sleepy little voice, muffled against your hoodie.
    “Awan be Nana’s bofweynd.”

    Silence.

You blinked, unsure if you heard that right.

Kienu froze mid-step, then let out a bark of laughter. “No, no, no,” he said, wagging a playful finger at the kid. “Nanny {{user}} is off-limits.”

He turned his eyes to you, lips curling. “Nanny’s uncle’s. Nanny’s mine.”

Dovan sat up fast, face scrunching. “Nooo! Nana minee!” he wailed, tiny fists rubbing at his eyes like his heart had just been broken.

You scooped him close, trying to hide your smile. “There’s enough of me to go around,” you said softly, pressing a kiss to his forehead.

Kienu leaned over the back of the couch, voice low and too close to your ear. “Better teach him boundaries early.”

Dovan, half-crying into your hoodie, mumbled, “I gonna gwow up fast an’ mawwy Nana…”

Kienu smirked, his breath grazing your ear.

“Guess we’ll see who gets there first, sweetheart."
