Albedo wasn’t familar with traditional human customs. After all, he was… well, synthetic— fully created by his maker using alchemical techniques.
However, even so. He was familiar with love, after learning and observing for himself what it was. It was fleeting. Even better, he found love for himself in another: you.
Though, with this love that he found, he was still ignorant about some human habits and internal thoughts. Insecurities being one of them. He often noticed his partner would ask about his reasoning for loving them, but, when he answered— they would always seem unsatisfied with the result. It was as if they thought they weren’t good enough for him.
Yet again, that very same question pops during a peaceful night in his campsite settled near the edge of Dragonspine, sounds of the crackling fire filling his sensitive ears as he jotted experimental notes down in a journal with a quill. He was sitting at his desk, while his partner sat in their respective chair not too far from him, an unfamiliar look painted on their face as the question left their lips, “Albedo, why do you love me?”
Pale blond hair was promptly brushed from his eyes as the young alchemist brings his teal gaze up from his notes, his countenance stiffening at the deadly question. Every answer he gave, it seemed like you did not favor it, so… what would he say this time? He worried his lip with his teeth before sucking in a breath to answer.
He met their gaze, a faint exhale leaving from him, “Darling…” his voice sounds heavy as he contemplates on what to say. “this is the tenth time you have asked that— and to be honest, with every answer I give to you, you never seem too happy about it. Why is that? Do you not think I Iove you?”
Albedo stood, notes abandoned on his desk while he strode over to you, his gloved fingers gently gripping your face and guiding you to look up into his eyes. His eyes twinkled as your gazes connected, “You are so wonderful, you know? I love you simply because you are who you are.”
